Sourcing in Mexico

CNC machining in Mexico, without the guesswork

A precision shop in the Puebla automotive corridor, on US Central Time, quoting in dollars or pesos. We are honest about what we are good at and what we are not — read on before you send an RFQ.

Most pages about machining in Mexico are written to make every shop sound like the right shop. This one is written to help you decide quickly whether we are, because a wasted RFQ costs you more than it costs us.

Where we fit

We are a low-volume, high-difficulty shop. Checking fixtures and gages, hardened tooling components, wire EDM work, spares with no drawing, and short-run precision parts with tight tolerances and real dimensional evidence.

That work rewards engineering judgment and fast turnaround more than it rewards piece price. It is what we have done for twenty years for tier-1 plants operating in Mexico.

Where we do not fit

If you need hundreds of thousands of turned parts at the lowest possible piece price, we are the wrong shop. Say your volume in the first message and we will tell you on day one instead of after two weeks of quoting.

We will also say no when a tolerance cannot be held with the process we have. That answer arrives the same day, not after your part is scrapped.

The honest version of the cross-border question

Our English-speaking customers today are largely US- and German-owned plants operating inside Mexico. They buy locally: no customs step, no international freight, no tariff classification to argue about.

We can quote in USD and we can ship to the United States, but our track record is domestic. So if your part ships to a US address, tell us the destination and volume up front. We will coordinate the logistics and put Incoterms and duties in writing before you commit, rather than quoting a landed cost we cannot defend and correcting it later.

Why proximity actually matters

Central Mexico is one to two days of ground freight from most of Texas and the US Midwest, versus weeks of ocean freight from Asia. But the real advantage is not freight — it is the feedback loop. A same-day answer on a manufacturability question, a photo of a first-off before the run continues, and an engineer who is awake when you are.

That loop is what makes low-volume, high-precision work practical at distance. It is also the part that disappears the moment your supplier is twelve time zones away.

What to send

STEP is ideal; DWG, DXF, STL, CATPart or a dimensioned PDF all work. Include quantity, material, critical tolerance and required date. If you have the part but no drawing, say so — we scan it and rebuild the model, and the model is yours.

You get a formal quote within 24 to 48 business hours: price, scope and a committed date, in writing.

Frequently asked

Do you work with US companies?

Yes — primarily US-owned plants that operate in Mexico and buy locally. We quote in USD or MXN and handle engineering in English.

Can you ship to the United States?

We can, and we will be straight with you: our history is with plants inside Mexico rather than cross-border programs. Tell us the US destination and volume in your first message and we will coordinate logistics and agree Incoterms in writing before you commit.

What time zone are you in?

US Central Time, year-round alignment with Texas and the US Midwest. A morning call reaches someone on the shop floor the same morning.

Is there a minimum order?

No. We machine from one piece, and single spares are a large part of our work.

How do you handle drawings under NDA?

Files sent through the quote form are used only to quote and are not shared with third parties. If you need a signed NDA before sending anything, write to us and we sign first.

Send the print. We answer with a number.

Upload your drawing or 3D model and get a formal quote within 24–48 business hours. If anything is missing from the file, we tell you the same day instead of leaving you waiting.
